桑傑本自幼跟隨熱貢地區享有“四大天王”之稱的尖木措大師學習藏傳佛教傳統繪畫及泥塑雕刻。在唐卡藝術先輩們的薰陶和引領下，經過數十年潛心鑽研、博採眾長，被中華人民共和國人力資源和社會保障部考評為國家一級技師、國家職業技能鑑定考評員，並榮獲青海省工藝美術大師稱號。 2015年，桑傑本被聘為國家民族畫院唐卡藝術研究院執行院長。
